Opossums

Silent Warriors

Texas is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including the fascinating Opossums. While Opossums are generally harmless creatures, they play a valuable role in our ecosystem by controlling pests. One could say they are Mother Nature’s Pest Control. They eat a variety of insects, but mainly Ticks. Every season, just one Opossum consumes over 5000 ticks, thus drastically reducing the population and helping to prevent Lyme Disease.

Opossums can occasionally venture into our homes, causing concerns for homeowners. Fear not! The myth about Opossums carrying rabies is simply not true. It is extremely rare for you to encounter a Opossum with rabies. These marvelous marsupials are skilled climbers and can often find their way into attics, crawl spaces, and under decks to seek shelter and to make a new home. Once inside, they can cause significant damage to insulation, wiring, and wooden beams as well as creating unsanitary conditions that could pose a health risk to the homeowner.

When faced with an Opossum in your home or business, TWMPC is here to assist. Our experienced team understands the behavior of these critters and employs humane trapping methods to safely remove them from your home. After removal, TWMPC conducts a thorough inspection to identify potential entry points and provides our expert exclusion services to seal the access points, preventing future wildlife entry into your home.

If you encounter these curious creatures in your living space or workspace, contact Toby's Wildlife Management & Pest Control promptly for a safe and effective solution. We have round the clock assistance with our 24 Hour Emergency Line! “Let us take the Wild out of your Life”
